1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Gokun mobile application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Gokun is a meal planning application that allows users to:

  • Discover and explore recipes from curated video creators
  • Plan and organize weekly meals for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner
  • Receive AI-generated meal suggestions tailored to your dietary preferences and household needs
  • View AI-estimated nutritional information for recipes
  • Set health conditions and receive AI-generated dietary constraint recommendations
  • Save and bookmark recipes for later use, including links shared from other apps
  • Share meal plans and collaborate with household members
  • React to and comment on planned meals within a household
  • Use voice-guided cooking assistance
  • Scan the contents of your fridge to generate ingredient-based meal suggestions
  • Receive shared meal plans and check-ins from a nutritionist (if you opt in)

Core features of the App are free to use. Some features (including expanded AI meal generation, fridge scans, and additional video imports) are available through optional paid subscriptions described in Section 9 (Subscriptions and Billing).

Gokun also operates Chef Privé, a separate service for ordering fresh-cooked home meals, accessed at order.gokun.xyz. Use of Chef Privé is subject to these Terms together with any product-specific terms presented at the time of ordering.

3. User Accounts

To use the App, you must create an account using your phone number. You agree to:

  • Provide a valid phone number for OTP-based authentication
  • Maintain the security of your account and device
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Share inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content within household comments or meal plans
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or households
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Reverse engineer or copy the App's code
  • Use automated systems to access the App without permission
  • Upload photographs of other people, private spaces, or copyrighted material you do not have the right to share when using camera-based features such as the fridge scan
  • Misrepresent the source of any external recipe link you save into the App, or save content you do not have the right to access

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create within the App (custom meals, meal plans, comments, reactions, voice notes, etc.). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the App and enabling household sharing features.

You are responsible for ensuring your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

6. Household Feature

The App allows you to create or join households to share meal plans and collaborate on food decisions. By joining a household:

  • You consent to share your display name, dietary preferences, meal plans, reactions, comments, and saved recipes with other household members
  • Household admins may have additional permissions, including managing members and regenerating invite codes
  • Members may be assigned roles (admin, planner, cook, member) that determine their permissions
  • You can leave a household at any time
  • If you are a household admin, you should transfer admin rights before leaving or deleting your account

Nutritionist plans (optional): If you accept a meal plan or check-in from a nutritionist using Gokun for their practice, that practitioner can see the meal plans, logged meals, nutrition totals, and check-in responses you choose to share with them. You can end this engagement at any time from within the App or by writing to support@gokun.xyz. We do not control the advice given by independent practitioners; Section 11 (Disclaimers) applies to any AI-generated content surfaced through their plans.

7. Recipe Content

Recipes displayed in the App are sourced from third-party video creators on platforms such as YouTube. Gokun does not create, own, or endorse the recipe content. We provide links and metadata for convenience, but the original content belongs to its respective creators. You acknowledge that:

  • Recipe accuracy, nutritional information, and preparation instructions are the responsibility of the original creators
  • Recipe availability may change if the original content is modified or removed

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and original content (excluding user content and third-party recipe content), is owned by Gokun and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App without our written permission.

9. Subscriptions and Billing

Gokun offers optional paid subscription tiers (currently Pro and Pro Plus) that unlock expanded usage of paid features, including AI meal generations, fridge scans, and additional video imports. Specific quotas and entitlements are shown in the App and may change over time.

  • Purchases: Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store or Google Play account. We do not receive or store your card or bank details.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal, through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel at any time via the store on which you subscribed. Cancellation stops future renewals; you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. Gokun cannot directly refund a store-billed subscription.
  • Quotas: Paid features include usage limits (for example, a monthly cap on AI meal generations or fridge scans). When you reach a limit, the relevant feature is paused until the quota resets at the start of your next billing period.
  • Changes to plans: We may add, remove, rename, or adjust the pricing and limits of subscription tiers. Any change that reduces an entitlement on your current plan will take effect only from your next renewal.

10. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services to operate. We are not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of these third parties, and your use of them is subject to their respective terms and at your own risk:

  • YouTube (for recipe videos)
  • Supabase (database hosting and authentication infrastructure)
  • Message Central (OTP delivery via SMS and WhatsApp)
  • Google Gemini (AI-generated meal suggestions, nutritional estimates, dietary recommendations, and fridge-photo ingredient detection)
  • RevenueCat (subscription state and entitlement management)
  • Apple App Store and Google Play (payment processing for subscriptions)
  • Cloudflare R2 (image CDN for photos you add to meals, recipes, or your library)
  • Vercel (website hosting)

11. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that:

  • The App will be available at all times
  • The App will be free of errors or bugs
  • Recipe information from third-party creators will be accurate or complete
  • The App will meet your specific dietary or nutritional requirements

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer: Certain features of the App use artificial intelligence (AI) to generate content, including but not limited to meal plan suggestions, nutritional estimates, and dietary constraint recommendations. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Nutritional information is AI-estimated: Calorie counts, macronutrient breakdowns, and other nutritional data displayed for recipes are generated by AI models and are approximate estimates only. They have not been verified by nutritionists, dietitians, or laboratory analysis, and may not reflect the actual nutritional content of a prepared dish.
  • Meal plans are AI-generated, not medical advice: AI-generated meal plans and suggestions, including those created for specific health conditions, dietary goals, or lifestyle preferences, are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. They do not constitute medical advice, dietary counselling, or any form of professional healthcare guidance.
  • Health condition recommendations are AI-generated: Dietary constraints, food restrictions, and nutritional guidelines suggested by the App in response to health conditions (such as diabetes, thyroid conditions, PCOS, celiac disease, or any other condition) are generated by AI and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified medical professional, registered dietitian, or trained healthcare practitioner.

Health Disclaimer: Gokun is a meal planning tool and does not provide medical or nutritional advice. No content within the App, whether AI-generated or sourced from third-party creators, has been reviewed or approved by healthcare professionals. You should always consult with a qualified doctor, dietitian, or other healthcare provider before making dietary changes, especially if you have any medical conditions, food allergies, or specific nutritional needs. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information provided by the App.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gokun shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to any adverse health effects from following recipes, AI-generated meal plans, AI-estimated nutritional information, or AI-generated dietary recommendations for health conditions.

13. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at delete@gokun.xyz or by visiting our account deletion page.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or via the updated date on this page.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
