- 1/4 cup whole almonds
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 1/8 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp chickpea flour
- 1 cup milk
- Sugar to taste
Method
- 1Microwave 1/4 cup whole almonds in water for 2 minutes, then peel and roughly crush using a mortar and pestle.
- 2Melt 1/2 tsp ghee in a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat.
- 3Add 1/8 tsp turmeric powder to the ghee and mix well.
- 4Add 1 tbsp chickpea flour (besan) to the skillet and roast, stirring continuously, until golden brown and fragrant.
- 5Pour in 1 cup milk and add the crushed almonds to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- 6Increase heat to bring the mixture to a boil.
- 7Reduce flame and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sheera thickens.
- 8Add sugar to taste and mix thoroughly.
- 9Turn off the heat and serve immediately.
