Ingredients
  • 780 gm boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp finely grated garlic
  • 2 tbsp plain unflavored yogurt
  • 3 tbsp tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Chopped green chilies for garnish
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
  1. 1Heat 3 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. 2Sauté chopped onion and 0.25 tsp salt until soft and translucent.
  3. 3Stir in 1 tbsp grated garlic for about a minute.
  4. 4Add chicken pieces, sear in a single layer until lightly browned.
  5. 5Whisk together 2 tbsp yogurt, 3 tbsp tomato puree, and 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce.
  6. 6Add black pepper to the chicken, then pour in the whisked sauce and 0.25 cup water.
  7. 7Stir in 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder, 0.75 cup hot water, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp sugar.
  8. 8Simmer on medium-low heat for 15 minutes until chicken is soft.
  9. 9Add 1 tsp garam masala powder and 4 tbsp heavy cream.
  10. 10Simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
  11. 11Garnish with chopped green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
