Ingredients
- 780 gm boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tbsp finely grated garlic
- 2 tbsp plain unflavored yogurt
- 3 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1.25 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp Kashmiri chili powder
- 0.25 tsp black pepper
- 4 tbsp heavy cream
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 cup water
- Chopped green chilies for garnish
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
- 1Heat 3 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- 2Sauté chopped onion and 0.25 tsp salt until soft and translucent.
- 3Stir in 1 tbsp grated garlic for about a minute.
- 4Add chicken pieces, sear in a single layer until lightly browned.
- 5Whisk together 2 tbsp yogurt, 3 tbsp tomato puree, and 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce.
- 6Add black pepper to the chicken, then pour in the whisked sauce and 0.25 cup water.
- 7Stir in 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder, 0.75 cup hot water, 1 tsp salt, and 0.5 tsp sugar.
- 8Simmer on medium-low heat for 15 minutes until chicken is soft.
- 9Add 1 tsp garam masala powder and 4 tbsp heavy cream.
- 10Simmer on low heat for 2-3 minutes.
- 11Garnish with chopped green chilies and fresh coriander leaves.
