Ingredients
  • Oil (enough to coat the bottom of a large wok)
  • 1-2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced
  • 3-4 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • 1/2 cup pre-cooked small soya chunks
  • Large mound of pre-cooked thin noodles
  • Green paste/sauce (several dollops)
  • Dark brown sauce (generous drizzle)
  • Salt (small sprinkle)
  • Clear granular seasoning (MSG or similar)
Method
  1. 1Heat oil in a large wok over high heat.
  2. 2Add thinly sliced onions and stir-fry briefly until they soften slightly.
  3. 3Add finely shredded green cabbage and continuously stir-fry with the onions.
  4. 4Add pre-cooked soya chunks and mix them in with the sautéing vegetables.
  5. 5Add pre-cooked thin noodles to the wok and sprinkle with salt.
  6. 6Sprinkle with clear granular seasoning.
  7. 7Generously drizzle green paste/sauce over the noodles and vegetables.
  8. 8Liberally drizzle dark brown sauce over the noodles and vegetables.
  9. 9Vigorously stir-fry all ingredients together until well mixed and noodles are uniformly browned.
  10. 10Scoop the cooked chowmein directly from the hot wok into a serving tray.
