Ingredients
- Oil (enough to coat the bottom of a large wok)
- 1-2 medium-sized onions, thinly sliced
- 3-4 cups finely shredded green cabbage
- 1/2 cup pre-cooked small soya chunks
- Large mound of pre-cooked thin noodles
- Green paste/sauce (several dollops)
- Dark brown sauce (generous drizzle)
- Salt (small sprinkle)
- Clear granular seasoning (MSG or similar)
Method
- 1Heat oil in a large wok over high heat.
- 2Add thinly sliced onions and stir-fry briefly until they soften slightly.
- 3Add finely shredded green cabbage and continuously stir-fry with the onions.
- 4Add pre-cooked soya chunks and mix them in with the sautéing vegetables.
- 5Add pre-cooked thin noodles to the wok and sprinkle with salt.
- 6Sprinkle with clear granular seasoning.
- 7Generously drizzle green paste/sauce over the noodles and vegetables.
- 8Liberally drizzle dark brown sauce over the noodles and vegetables.
- 9Vigorously stir-fry all ingredients together until well mixed and noodles are uniformly browned.
- 10Scoop the cooked chowmein directly from the hot wok into a serving tray.
