Ingredients
- 1/2 cup browned butter
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberry powder (divided)
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup sprinkles
Method
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour browned butter into a large mixing bowl.
- 2Add strawberry jam and eggs to the bowl. Mix with an electric hand mixer until pink and frothy.
- 3Add granulated sugar and mix until thoroughly combined.
- 4Gradually add flour, then milk and half of the freeze-dried strawberry powder. Mix until batter is smooth and light pink.
- 5Pour batter into a parchment-lined rectangular baking pan and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- 6While cake cools, prepare frosting: Combine cream cheese, a splash of milk (about 2-3 tbsp), and powdered sugar in a separate bowl.
- 7Mix frosting with an electric hand mixer until smooth.
- 8Add remaining freeze-dried strawberry powder to the frosting and mix to create a light pink glaze.
- 9Pour the strawberry glaze evenly over the cooled cake.
- 10Decorate with sprinkles and fresh flowers as desired.
