Ingredients
- 1-2 tablespoons matcha powder
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water
- 5-7 medium-sized fresh strawberries
- 1-2 teaspoons monk fruit sweetener
- A generous amount of ice cubes
- 1 cup almond milk
Method
- 1Place about one spoonful of matcha powder into a small, fine-mesh sieve held over a gray ceramic bowl.
- 2Press the matcha powder through the sieve with the back of a spoon to ensure a smooth mixture.
- 3Pour cold water into the bowl with the sifted matcha.
- 4Vigorously whisk the matcha and water with a bamboo matcha whisk until a smooth, slightly frothy bright green liquid forms.
- 5Slice and then dice fresh strawberries on a wooden cutting board.
- 6Transfer the diced strawberries into a beige ceramic bowl.
- 7Sprinkle monk fruit sweetener over the strawberries.
- 8Gently mash and muddle the strawberries and sweetener using a metal muddler, then stir with a spoon.
- 9Spoon the muddled strawberry mixture into the bottom of a tall, clear glass.
- 10Add ice cubes on top of the strawberry layer, filling roughly half of the glass.
- 11Carefully pour almond milk over the ice.
- 12Slowly pour the prepared whisked matcha over the almond milk to create the top layer.
