- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup chopped strawberries
- ½ tsp vanilla essence
- 2 cups water
- Granulated sugar to taste
- 1 tbsp thick coconut cream or regular cream
- A few slices fresh strawberries
- 2 tsp condensed milk, optional
- 1 tbsp flaked almonds
Method
- 1Add 1 cup rolled oats to a cooking pot.
- 2Add 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries to the pot.
- 3Add ½ tsp vanilla essence to the pot.
- 4Pour 2 cups of water into the pot, submerging the oats and strawberries.
- 5Stir the mixture gently with a spatula to combine the ingredients.
- 6Cover the pot with a lid and cook on a low flame for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked and strawberries break down.
- 7Once the oatmeal has reached a thick, creamy consistency, sprinkle granulated sugar to taste over it.
- 8Stir the sugar thoroughly into the hot oatmeal until fully incorporated, lightly mashing the strawberries.
- 9Spoon the cooked oatmeal into a serving bowl.
- 10Drizzle with 1 tbsp thick coconut cream or regular cream.
- 11Arrange a few slices of fresh strawberries and a decorative swirl of 2 tsp condensed milk (optional) on top.
- 12Sprinkle 1 tbsp flaked almonds over the oatmeal before serving.
