Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 tsp Italian herbs
- 1/4 tsp red chili flakes
- 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Method
- 1Combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a bowl.
- 2Add yogurt and cooking oil, then gradually add water while kneading until a soft, pliable dough forms.
- 3Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for at least 3 hours.
- 4Heat a pan with a small amount of oil, add diced tomatoes, salt, sugar, Italian herbs, and red chili flakes. Cook and stir until tomatoes soften and a thick sauce forms.
- 5Transfer the marinara sauce to a separate bowl.
- 6In the same pan, sauté diced green bell peppers and sliced mushrooms for a short time until slightly softened.
- 7Roll a portion of the rested dough into a smooth ball and then flatten it into an 8.5 to 9-inch circle.
- 8Place the rolled dough crust into the pan, cook briefly on one side, then flip.
- 9Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the cooked side of the crust.
- 10Top with a generous handful of shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the sautéed mushrooms and bell peppers.
- 11Cover the pan and cook on the stovetop until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is cooked through.
- 12Serve the homemade stovetop pizza immediately.
