Ingredients
- 1 quail
- 1 butternut squash
- 2-3 dried jujubes
- 50g lotus seeds
- 5g goji berries
- 1/2 tsp peppercorns
- 1 tsp stock powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt
- Green onions
Method
- 1Rub quail with salt and rinse thoroughly.
- 2Cut butternut squash in half and scoop out seeds and inner flesh to create a cavity.
- 3Make a small slice at the bottom of the squash for stability.
- 4Place cleaned quail inside the hollowed squash.
- 5Add lotus seeds, sliced dried jujubes, goji berries, peppercorns, stock powder, and sesame oil to the squash.
- 6Cover the squash opening tightly (e.g., with foil or alum paper).
- 7Steam the squash and quail until cooked through.
- 8Garnish with freshly chopped green onions before serving.
