Ingredients
- 1.5 to 2 cups makhana
- 2 tablespoons ghee
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon mint powder
Method
- 1Heat a black non-stick frying pan on an electric stove or hot plate.
- 2Add 1 tablespoon of ghee to the hot pan and allow it to melt.
- 3Pour the raw makhana into the pan with the melted ghee.
- 4Continuously stir and toss the makhana with a wooden spatula over medium heat, shaking the pan for even roasting.
- 5Roast the makhana until they become crisp and crunchy.
- 6Add another tablespoon of ghee to the pan.
- 7Immediately add 1/2 teaspoon each of chaat masala, salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, and mint powder.
- 8Thoroughly toss and stir the makhana in the pan to evenly coat them with ghee and spices.
- 9Scoop the fully coated roasted makhana out of the pan and transfer them to a serving bowl.
