Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef steak
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp spice blend
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup tahini paste
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cucumber
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh dill
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley
- 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes
- 4 pieces naan bread
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1/2 red onion
- 1/4 cup pickled peppers
- 2 medium sweet potatoes
Method
- 1Prepare steak: Season large cuts of beef steak generously with spice blend, salt, and olive oil. Rub into the meat and top with lemon zest/peels and fresh herbs (dill, parsley).
- 2Bake steak: Place seasoned steak on a sheet pan and roast in the oven until cooked and crispy to your liking.
- 3Prepare sweet potato fries: On a separate sheet pan, season and roast sliced sweet potato fries until crispy.
- 4Make garlic tahini sauce: Blend garlic cloves with tahini paste in a food processor until smooth.
- 5Prepare feta tzatziki sauce: Mix crumbled feta cheese and fresh dill into a creamy yogurt and cucumber base.
- 6Optional sun-dried tomato dressing: Combine chopped fresh herbs, olive oil, and sun-dried tomatoes.
- 7Slice steak: Once cooked, thinly slice the beef steak against the grain on a cutting board.
- 8Assemble gyros: Layer warm naan bread with shredded lettuce, sliced steak, both feta tzatziki and garlic tahini sauces, thinly sliced red onions, and pickled peppers.
- 9Serve assembled gyros immediately with roasted sweet potato fries.
