Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 oz sliced brown mushrooms
  • 2 thinly sliced shallots
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Method
  1. 1Combine ground beef, panko bread crumbs, ketchup, and egg in a bowl and mix well.
  2. 2Form the mixture into flat, oval-shaped patties.
  3. 3Pan-fry patties in a hot skillet until golden brown and crispy on both sides, then set aside.
  4. 4In the same skillet, add butter and sauté sliced mushrooms and shallots until softened.
  5. 5Sprinkle flour over the sautéed vegetables to create a roux.
  6. 6Deglaze the pan with white wine, then pour in heavy cream and add Parmesan cheese to form a sauce.
  7. 7Return the cooked patties to the simmering sauce to finish cooking and absorb flavors.
  8. 8In a separate small bowl, combine minced garlic with softened butter and chopped parsley to make garlic butter.
  9. 9Serve the Salisbury steak hot, topped generously with the garlic butter and steamy sauce.
