Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1-2 cups white granulated sugar
- 1 cup cooking oil
- 1-2 cups all-purpose flour
- A few tablespoons cocoa powder
- Baking soda
- Baking powder
- 1-2 teaspoons salt
- A few tablespoons red food coloring
- Vinegar
- Cream
- Sugar syrup
Method
- 1Crack six eggs into a large bowl and add a generous amount of white granulated sugar.
- 2Pour about one cup of cooking oil into the egg and sugar mixture, then use an electric hand mixer to combine until well emulsified.
- 3Sift all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda/powder, and salt over the wet mixture.
- 4Gently fold and then thoroughly mix the dry ingredients into the wet base with a spatula until a thick, brown batter forms.
- 5Pour vibrant red liquid food coloring and add vinegar into the brown batter.
- 6Mix the batter again with the spatula until the red food coloring is fully incorporated and the batter is a uniform, rich reddish-brown.
- 7Prepare a round springform cake tin by lining its base with parchment paper.
- 8Pour the reddish-brown cake batter into the prepared tin, then place it into a preheated oven and bake until the cake rises and appears cooked.
- 9Remove the baked cake from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack.
- 10While the cake cools, whip white cream in a separate bowl using an electric mixer until thick and fluffy for frosting.
- 11Once the cake is cooled, horizontally slice off the domed top with a serrated knife to create two flat layers.
- 12Place the bottom cake layer on a stand, moisten with sugar syrup, pipe white frosting in a spiral pattern, and then place the top cake layer on it.
- 13Cover the sides of the cake with frosting, pipe remaining frosting decoratively on top, and garnish with finely crumbled red cake pieces.
