- 3-4 small to medium-sized potatoes

Method
- 1Peel 3-4 small to medium-sized potatoes using a swivel peeler.
- 2Briefly place the peeled potatoes in a bowl of water.
- 3Slice the potatoes into uniform, long sticks characteristic of french fries.
- 4Spread out the cut potato sticks and sprinkle approximately 1-2 tablespoons of cornstarch over them.
- 5Thoroughly mix the potatoes to ensure they are evenly coated with cornstarch.
- 6Heat cooking oil in a metal pot on a gas stove over a medium flame.
- 7Carefully add the cornstarch-coated potato sticks to the hot oil using a spider strainer and deep fry.
- 8Fry the potatoes until they turn golden-brown and crispy.
- 9Remove the fried potatoes from the hot oil using a strainer and transfer them to a clean white bowl.
- 10Sprinkle salt over the hot, freshly fried potatoes.
