Ingredients
- 1 block Halloumi cheese
- 1 tsp dried mint flakes
- 20-30 square wonton wrappers
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 tbsp Za'atar spice mix
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup roasted red pepper sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2-3 round pita bread
- 1 container Muhummarah dip
- 1 container Baba Ghanoush dip
- 1 container Labneh dip
- 1 cup mini sweet bell peppers
- 1 cup sliced cucumber
- 1 cup carrot ribbons
- 1/2 cup sliced radishes
- 2 tbsp water
Method
- 1Slice Halloumi cheese into small sticks.
- 2Place a Halloumi stick diagonally on a wonton wrapper, sprinkle with dried mint, moisten edges with water, then fold and seal to form a parcel.
- 3Deep fry the wontons until golden and crispy.
- 4Unroll puff pastry, brush generously with olive oil, then season heavily with Za'atar.
- 5Cut the pastry into small rectangular strips, then twist each strip tightly.
- 6Bake the puff pastry twists until golden brown and flaky.
- 7Mix roasted red pepper sauce with tomato paste in a small bowl.
- 8Brush round pita bread with the red pepper mixture and score into triangles.
- 9Bake the pita bread until crispy to form spicy pita chips.
- 10Arrange the fried Halloumi wontons, baked Za'atar puff pastry twists, spicy pita chips, store-bought Muhummarah, Baba Ghanoush, and Labneh dips, and fresh vegetables (mini bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, radishes) on a serving board.
