Ingredients
- 1/2 mango
- 1 tsp sweetener of choice (optional)
- 4g ceremonial grade matcha
- 40g hot water
- 60ml coconut milk (or any other milk)
- Lots of ice
Method
- 1Peel the skin off a ripe yellow mango.
- 2Scrape the sweet yellow flesh from the pit using a spoon.
- 3Place the mango flesh on a cutting board, then roughly chop and mash with a knife until it forms a chunky pulp.
- 4Sprinkle approximately one teaspoon of white granular sweetener over the mashed mango.
- 5Further mash and mix the mango and sweetener with the knife.
- 6Sift approximately 4 grams of matcha powder through a fine metal strainer into a small clear glass bowl.
- 7Pour approximately 40 grams of hot water into the bowl with the sifted matcha.
- 8Vigorously whisk the matcha powder and water with a bamboo matcha whisk to create a smooth, frothy, vibrant green concentrate.
- 9Spoon the prepared sweet mango pulp into the bottom of a tall, clear double-walled glass, filling about one-quarter.
- 10Place several ice cubes on top of the mango layer, filling most of the glass.
- 11Pour about 60ml of creamy white coconut milk over the ice.
- 12Gently pour the vibrant green whisked matcha on top.
- 13Insert a metal straw into the layered drink.
- 14Thoroughly stir the drink with the straw to mix the mango, coconut milk, and matcha into a uniform, pale green, creamy beverage with visible mango chunks.
