Ingredients
  • 1/2 mango
  • 1 tsp sweetener of choice (optional)
  • 4g ceremonial grade matcha
  • 40g hot water
  • 60ml coconut milk (or any other milk)
  • Lots of ice
Method
  1. 1Peel the skin off a ripe yellow mango.
  2. 2Scrape the sweet yellow flesh from the pit using a spoon.
  3. 3Place the mango flesh on a cutting board, then roughly chop and mash with a knife until it forms a chunky pulp.
  4. 4Sprinkle approximately one teaspoon of white granular sweetener over the mashed mango.
  5. 5Further mash and mix the mango and sweetener with the knife.
  6. 6Sift approximately 4 grams of matcha powder through a fine metal strainer into a small clear glass bowl.
  7. 7Pour approximately 40 grams of hot water into the bowl with the sifted matcha.
  8. 8Vigorously whisk the matcha powder and water with a bamboo matcha whisk to create a smooth, frothy, vibrant green concentrate.
  9. 9Spoon the prepared sweet mango pulp into the bottom of a tall, clear double-walled glass, filling about one-quarter.
  10. 10Place several ice cubes on top of the mango layer, filling most of the glass.
  11. 11Pour about 60ml of creamy white coconut milk over the ice.
  12. 12Gently pour the vibrant green whisked matcha on top.
  13. 13Insert a metal straw into the layered drink.
  14. 14Thoroughly stir the drink with the straw to mix the mango, coconut milk, and matcha into a uniform, pale green, creamy beverage with visible mango chunks.
