Ingredients
- 2 slices shokupan bread
- 1/2 mango
- 2 slices cheese
- 30g butter
- 25g brown sugar
- 15g honey
Method
- 1Trim the crusts off two slices of shokupan bread.
- 2In a bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and honey, then mix until a smooth paste forms.
- 3Place one trimmed bread slice on a cutting board, then spread diced mango pieces evenly over it.
- 4Layer two slices of yellow cheese on top of the mangoes.
- 5Top with the second trimmed bread slice to complete the sandwich.
- 6Spread half of the honey butter mixture evenly over one side of the assembled sandwich.
- 7Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat.
- 8Place the sandwich, honey-butter-coated side down, into the hot pan.
- 9Spread the remaining honey butter mixture over the top, uncooked side of the sandwich.
- 10Cook the first side until golden-brown, caramelized, and crispy.
- 11Flip the sandwich and cook the second side until it also achieves a golden-brown, crispy finish.
- 12Remove the cooked toast from the pan and place it onto a plate.
- 13Cut the toast diagonally in half and serve.
