Ingredients
  • 2 slices shokupan bread
  • 1/2 mango
  • 2 slices cheese
  • 30g butter
  • 25g brown sugar
  • 15g honey
Method
  1. 1Trim the crusts off two slices of shokupan bread.
  2. 2In a bowl, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and honey, then mix until a smooth paste forms.
  3. 3Place one trimmed bread slice on a cutting board, then spread diced mango pieces evenly over it.
  4. 4Layer two slices of yellow cheese on top of the mangoes.
  5. 5Top with the second trimmed bread slice to complete the sandwich.
  6. 6Spread half of the honey butter mixture evenly over one side of the assembled sandwich.
  7. 7Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat.
  8. 8Place the sandwich, honey-butter-coated side down, into the hot pan.
  9. 9Spread the remaining honey butter mixture over the top, uncooked side of the sandwich.
  10. 10Cook the first side until golden-brown, caramelized, and crispy.
  11. 11Flip the sandwich and cook the second side until it also achieves a golden-brown, crispy finish.
  12. 12Remove the cooked toast from the pan and place it onto a plate.
  13. 13Cut the toast diagonally in half and serve.
