- 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 medium Onion
- 1 medium Tomato
- Fresh Lime juice (for garnish)
- Chopped Cilantro (for garnish)
Method
- 1Turn on Instant Pot to 'Sauté' mode and allow it to heat up.
- 2Add oil to the hot pot.
- 3Introduce Cumin seeds and sauté until they crackle and lightly brown.
- 4Add Turmeric powder and stir into the oil.
- 5Add Asafoetida and mix well.
- 6Toss in Curry leaves and let them splutter.
- 7Add smashed garlic cloves, minced ginger, and slit green chilies, then briefly sauté to release aromas.
- 8Transfer the washed and drained Toor Dal into the Instant Pot.
- 9Pour in 3 cups of fresh water.
- 10Add salt and sprinkle in Fenugreek seeds.
- 11Add the finely chopped onion and chopped tomato.
- 12Stir all contents to combine, then close and seal the Instant Pot lid.
- 13Cancel 'Sauté' mode and set the Instant Pot to 'Pressure Cook' (specific duration not provided in source).
