Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
- 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
- ¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons 7 Spice
- 2 teaspoons sumac
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 12–14 round rice paper sheets
- Olive oil spray
Method
- 1Heat olive oil in a skillet, add diced onion, and cook until soft and translucent.
- 2Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked.
- 3Stir in chopped tomatoes, parsley, salt, 7 Spice, sumac, and cinnamon; cook for 2-3 minutes until moisture has mostly evaporated.
- 4Remove meat mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 5Fill a shallow dish with warm water, then dip one rice paper sheet for 5-7 seconds until pliable.
- 6Place the softened rice paper on a clean surface, spoon 2-3 tablespoons of meat mixture in the middle, and fold 4 times to make a square parcel.
- 7Repeat the dipping and folding process for the remaining rice paper sheets and meat mixture.
- 8Transfer the assembled meat pies in a single layer to an air fryer basket and lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.
- 9Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8–12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 10Let the air-fried meat pies cool slightly before serving to allow them to crisp further.
