Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 pound 95% lean ground beef
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
  • ¼ cup finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons 7 Spice
  • 2 teaspoons sumac
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 12–14 round rice paper sheets
  • Olive oil spray
Method
  1. 1Heat olive oil in a skillet, add diced onion, and cook until soft and translucent.
  2. 2Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it apart, until browned and fully cooked.
  3. 3Stir in chopped tomatoes, parsley, salt, 7 Spice, sumac, and cinnamon; cook for 2-3 minutes until moisture has mostly evaporated.
  4. 4Remove meat mixture from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. 5Fill a shallow dish with warm water, then dip one rice paper sheet for 5-7 seconds until pliable.
  6. 6Place the softened rice paper on a clean surface, spoon 2-3 tablespoons of meat mixture in the middle, and fold 4 times to make a square parcel.
  7. 7Repeat the dipping and folding process for the remaining rice paper sheets and meat mixture.
  8. 8Transfer the assembled meat pies in a single layer to an air fryer basket and lightly spray the tops with olive oil spray.
  9. 9Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 8–12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  10. 10Let the air-fried meat pies cool slightly before serving to allow them to crisp further.
