Ingredients
- 20-30+ jamun (java plum) fruits
- Water (for washing)
- 1 cup hot water (per serving)
- 1 spoonful jamun seed powder (per serving)
Method
- 1Separate the dark purple flesh of the jamun fruit from its inner black seed.
- 2Peel off the black outer layer of the separated seeds to expose the pale green inner kernel.
- 3Wash the peeled green jamun kernels.
- 4Air dry the washed jamun kernels for 3-4 days until they shrink, shrivel, and turn mottled green-brown-beige.
- 5Transfer the thoroughly dried kernels into a blender.
- 6Grind the kernels into a very fine powder.
- 7Spoon the prepared jamun seed powder into a clear glass jar for storage.
- 8To consume, add one spoonful of jamun seed powder to a glass of hot water.
- 9Stir the powder thoroughly into the water until it forms a uniform, cloudy liquid.
