Ingredients
  • 20-30+ jamun (java plum) fruits
  • Water (for washing)
  • 1 cup hot water (per serving)
  • 1 spoonful jamun seed powder (per serving)
Method
  1. 1Separate the dark purple flesh of the jamun fruit from its inner black seed.
  2. 2Peel off the black outer layer of the separated seeds to expose the pale green inner kernel.
  3. 3Wash the peeled green jamun kernels.
  4. 4Air dry the washed jamun kernels for 3-4 days until they shrink, shrivel, and turn mottled green-brown-beige.
  5. 5Transfer the thoroughly dried kernels into a blender.
  6. 6Grind the kernels into a very fine powder.
  7. 7Spoon the prepared jamun seed powder into a clear glass jar for storage.
  8. 8To consume, add one spoonful of jamun seed powder to a glass of hot water.
  9. 9Stir the powder thoroughly into the water until it forms a uniform, cloudy liquid.
