Ingredients
- 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water
- 8-10 ice cubes
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup
Method
- 1Sieve about 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a grey ceramic bowl using a fine-mesh sieve.
- 2Pour cold water into the bowl with the sieved matcha.
- 3Vigorously whisk the matcha and water together using a traditional bamboo matcha whisk until the mixture is smooth, lump-free, and has a frothy layer on top.
- 4Fill a tall, clear drinking glass with 8-10 ice cubes.
- 5Pour approximately 1 cup of almond milk over the ice cubes, filling the glass approximately two-thirds of the way.
- 6Drizzle 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup into the glass, mixing with the milk and ice.
- 7Carefully pour the whisked matcha concentrate into the glass, gently layering on top of the milk and ice.
- 8Insert a metal straw into the glass and use it to stir the drink until the distinct layers blend into a uniform, creamy light green color.
