Ingredients
  • 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup cold water
  • 8-10 ice cubes
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1-2 teaspoons maple syrup
Method
  1. 1Sieve about 1-2 teaspoons of matcha powder into a grey ceramic bowl using a fine-mesh sieve.
  2. 2Pour cold water into the bowl with the sieved matcha.
  3. 3Vigorously whisk the matcha and water together using a traditional bamboo matcha whisk until the mixture is smooth, lump-free, and has a frothy layer on top.
  4. 4Fill a tall, clear drinking glass with 8-10 ice cubes.
  5. 5Pour approximately 1 cup of almond milk over the ice cubes, filling the glass approximately two-thirds of the way.
  6. 6Drizzle 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup into the glass, mixing with the milk and ice.
  7. 7Carefully pour the whisked matcha concentrate into the glass, gently layering on top of the milk and ice.
  8. 8Insert a metal straw into the glass and use it to stir the drink until the distinct layers blend into a uniform, creamy light green color.
