Ingredients
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken
  • 1 head broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1/4 cup flour or cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp red chili garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
Method
  1. 1Cube raw chicken pieces and place them on a sheet pan.
  2. 2Drizzle chicken with olive oil, sprinkle with red chili flakes, and coat thoroughly with flour or cornstarch.
  3. 3Add fresh broccoli florets to the same sheet pan and drizzle with oil.
  4. 4Bake chicken and broccoli together in an oven until the chicken is cooked and crispy, and broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. 5While chicken and broccoli cook, prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, red chili garlic paste, minced garlic, minced ginger, sugar, and rice vinegar in a measuring cup; stir well.
  6. 6Once chicken and broccoli are cooked, pour the prepared sauce generously over the chicken on the sheet pan.
  7. 7Further cook the chicken with the sauce, allowing it to coat the chicken and absorb the flavors.
  8. 8Serve the General Tso's Chicken hot over white cooked rice, garnished with toasted sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions.
