  • 1.75 cups flax seed powder
  • 1 cup almond powder
  • 1 cup cashew powder
  • 0.6 cups chopped walnuts
  • 0.25 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 0.5 cup water
Method
  1. 1Dry-roast flax seed powder in a pan.
  2. 2Add almond powder, cashew powder, and chopped walnuts to the pan and lightly toast.
  3. 3Mix in cardamom powder with the dry ingredients.
  4. 4In a separate pan, combine water and sugar, heat, and stir until it boils and forms a clear syrup.
  5. 5Pour the roasted dry nut and flax seed mixture into the hot syrup.
  6. 6Stir vigorously until the mixture thickens and is uniformly coated.
  7. 7Pour the thick mixture onto a greased plate and flatten evenly into a slab.
  8. 8Wait for 5 minutes, then cut the slab into strips and then into square or rectangular pieces.
  9. 9Let the burfi cool down to room temperature to fully set.
