Ingredients

  1. 1Peel 2-3 overripe bananas and place them into a mixing bowl.
  2. 2Mash the bananas thoroughly with a potato masher until a smooth pulp forms.
  3. 3Add granulated sugar to the mashed bananas and whisk until combined.
  4. 4Pour in the oil and vanilla extract and whisk until the wet ingredients are well incorporated.
  5. 5Sieve whole wheat flour, baking powder or baking soda, and a pinch of salt directly into the wet banana mixture.
  6. 6Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture with a spatula until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  7. 7Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the batter and fold them in evenly.
  8. 8Pour the complete batter into a parchment-lined loaf pan.
  9. 9Smooth the top of the batter with a spatula and sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
