- 2-3 medium overripe bananas

- 1Peel 2-3 overripe bananas and place them into a mixing bowl.
- 2Mash the bananas thoroughly with a potato masher until a smooth pulp forms.
- 3Add granulated sugar to the mashed bananas and whisk until combined.
- 4Pour in the oil and vanilla extract and whisk until the wet ingredients are well incorporated.
- 5Sieve whole wheat flour, baking powder or baking soda, and a pinch of salt directly into the wet banana mixture.
- 6Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture with a spatula until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- 7Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to the batter and fold them in evenly.
- 8Pour the complete batter into a parchment-lined loaf pan.
- 9Smooth the top of the batter with a spatula and sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top.
- 10Bake the banana bread in an oven until done.
