Ingredients
- 2 large overripe bananas
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 1.5 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1 to 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup milk
- 1 banana (for topping)
- Hazelnut spread (for garnish)
Method
- 1Peel and mash two overripe bananas in a bowl until a lumpy paste forms.
- 2Add vegetable oil and white granulated sugar to the mashed bananas and stir well until smoothly combined.
- 3Sift all-purpose flour, cinnamon powder, and baking soda into a large measuring jug.
- 4Pour the mashed banana mixture (wet ingredients) into the sifted dry ingredients.
- 5Add maple syrup or honey, balsamic vinegar, and chopped walnuts to the batter, then gently fold.
- 6Pour in milk and mix with a spatula until the batter is thick and well-combined.
- 7Pour the batter into a parchment-lined rectangular loaf pan and arrange banana slices on top.
- 8Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (338°F) for 35 to 40 minutes.
- 9Remove the golden-brown banana bread from the oven, place it on a cutting board to cool slightly, then slice.
- 10Drizzle hazelnut spread on the sliced banana bread for serving.
