Ingredients
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon Aleppo pepper
- 1 shallot
- 1 cup chopped fresh herbs (dill, mint, parsley)
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Method
- 1Scoop plain, fluid yogurt into a clear glass mixing bowl.
- 2Add one teaspoon of Aleppo pepper to the yogurt.
- 3Peel and finely dice one shallot on a cutting board.
- 4Pick fresh dill, mint, and parsley from their stems, then finely chop them.
- 5Scrape the finely diced shallots and chopped herbs into the yogurt mixture.
- 6Sprinkle salt over the mixture and thoroughly mix all ingredients with a spatula.
- 7Taste the sauce to assess its flavor.
- 8Drizzle in a small amount of dark vinegar and mix.
- 9Add a little bit of sugar to round out the edges and balance the sourness, then mix again.
