  • 1/4th cup water

Method
  1. 1Break the whole coconut into two halves.
  2. 2Grate the white flesh from the coconut using either a traditional or an electric grater.
  3. 3Transfer the freshly grated coconut and 1/4th cup water into a blender or mixer grinder jar.
  4. 4Blend the mixture until smooth, ensuring a thick consistency and adding more water if needed for maximum milk extraction.
  5. 5Place a nut milk bag or a clean cloth over a metal sieve, which is set on a clear glass bowl.
  6. 6Pour the blended coconut mixture into the bag or cloth.
  7. 7Firmly squeeze the bag with both hands to strain and extract the liquid coconut milk into the bowl below.
  8. 8Pour the fresh coconut milk into a glass.
  9. 9Optionally, add sugar and ice cubes to the coconut milk for a sweet and chilled flavor.
