  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup almond powder
  • 1 pinch cardamom powder
Method
  1. 1Place shredded coconut in a pan over medium heat.
  2. 2Add granulated sugar to the pan and stir continuously.
  3. 3Cook until sugar melts and mixture bubbles, about 3 minutes.
  4. 4Add almond powder and cardamom powder to the mixture.
  5. 5Continue stirring until the mixture thickens and forms a soft dough, leaving the pan sides.
  6. 6Transfer the warm mixture onto a plate and press into an even square shape.
  7. 7While still warm, cut the burfi into small square pieces.
  8. 8Allow the burfi to cool completely to room temperature before serving.
