Ingredients
  • 8 ounces (225g) cheddar cheese
  • 2 thick beef patties
  • 2 English muffins
  • 1/2 cup caramelized red onions
  • 2-3 tablespoons creamy white sauce
  • 4-6 crinkle-cut pickle slices
Method
  1. 1Shred the entire block of cheddar cheese using a box grater.
  2. 2Cook two beef patties on a hot griddle until seared on both sides.
  3. 3Place a generous mound of shredded cheddar cheese on top of each cooking patty.
  4. 4Cover the patties with a metal lid or inverted bowl to help melt the cheese quickly and evenly.
  5. 5Remove the lid once the cheddar cheese is gloriously gooey and fully melted.
  6. 6Carefully lift the cheese-covered patties from the griddle with a spatula.
  7. 7Spread the creamy white sauce on the toasted bottom half of each English muffin.
  8. 8Top the sauce with a layer of caramelized red onions.
  9. 9Place a cheese-covered beef patty on top of the caramelized onions.
  10. 10Arrange several crinkle-cut pickle slices on the melted cheese.
  11. 11Complete the burger by adding the other half of the toasted English muffin.
