Ingredients
- 8 ounces (225g) cheddar cheese
- 2 thick beef patties
- 2 English muffins
- 1/2 cup caramelized red onions
- 2-3 tablespoons creamy white sauce
- 4-6 crinkle-cut pickle slices
Method
- 1Shred the entire block of cheddar cheese using a box grater.
- 2Cook two beef patties on a hot griddle until seared on both sides.
- 3Place a generous mound of shredded cheddar cheese on top of each cooking patty.
- 4Cover the patties with a metal lid or inverted bowl to help melt the cheese quickly and evenly.
- 5Remove the lid once the cheddar cheese is gloriously gooey and fully melted.
- 6Carefully lift the cheese-covered patties from the griddle with a spatula.
- 7Spread the creamy white sauce on the toasted bottom half of each English muffin.
- 8Top the sauce with a layer of caramelized red onions.
- 9Place a cheese-covered beef patty on top of the caramelized onions.
- 10Arrange several crinkle-cut pickle slices on the melted cheese.
- 11Complete the burger by adding the other half of the toasted English muffin.
