Ingredients
- Approximately 1 cup walnuts
- About ½ cup pistachios
- 1-2 tablespoons coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- A pinch salt
- 3-4 rice paper sheets
- Liquid ghee
- Cinnamon sugar
- Water
- Extra crushed nuts
Method
- 1Add walnuts, pistachios, coconut sugar, cinnamon powder, and a pinch of salt into a small mixer grinder.
- 2Coarsely grind these ingredients until they form a textured, crumbly mixture with a light brown and greenish hue.
- 3Pour water into a deep cream-colored plate.
- 4Individually dip round rice paper sheets into the water for a few seconds until they become soft, pliable, and slightly translucent.
- 5Arrange three softened rice paper sheets in an overlapping manner on a wooden cutting board to create a rectangular surface.
- 6Evenly spread the coarsely ground nut mixture over the middle section of these sheets.
- 7Fold the sides of the rice paper inwards to enclose the filling.
- 8Tightly roll the entire assembly from one end into a log shape.
- 9Coil the log into a tight spiral, resembling a cinnamon roll.
- 10Place the spiral-shaped baklava on a small black plate.
- 11Generously brush the baklava with melted ghee using a purple silicone brush.
- 12Sprinkle the baklava with cinnamon sugar.
- 13Transfer the baklava to an air fryer basket.
- 14Air-fry the baklava at 200 degrees Celsius for 6 minutes, resulting in a perfectly crispy texture.
- 15Garnish the finished baklava with additional crushed nuts and then cut it in half with a knife for serving.
